Standalone/Connected mode

Introduction

The concept of the standalone/connected mode has been introduced to respond to very high security needs that may occur.
It may happen that the data you want to exchange with another SOFiE participant are located in a very high-secured environment.
This environment may not be connected to a network. Nevertheless in certain cases you have to exchange data with someone else.
Using a standalone installation combined with the SOFiE’s routing concept, you can exchange data with other people in confidence.
In standalone mode the functionalities requiring a network connection are disabled and replaced by manual processes.
